Both the planning and listed building applications have been withdrawn. This is unlikely to be the end of the story but is good news.

Since the (Bath Unitarian) Newsletter went round I have two pieces of news to tell you.
 
(1) The Planning Application re the Old Meeting House, Marshfield, has been withdrawn. Although it is still open to the British Legion to make a revised or alternative application this would also be unlikely to succeed since English Heritage are now reviewing the listing details and they are likely to be revised in a way that will make it even harder to change use. Yesterday (19 Jan) I was invited to a meeting of users of the hall, and the future was discussed. At present there are no plans to purchase the building (it isn't officially on the market anyway) but there are ideas in the air regarding a group to manage it. We will be very much kept in the loop on this.
 
(2) Lis Dyson-Jones, the GA President, has accepted our invitation to lead our meeting at Marshfield on Sunday 10 June 2012. I hope we can make the most of this occasion, both among ourselves and to raise our profile a little in Marshfield. Ideas anyone?

Suggestions - invite the Marshfield Mummers to perform at the event.

Put up flyers in the local pubs.

Seek permission to process along the high street with banners flying!
